A high school diploma or its equivalent is required for pharmacy technicians, along with on-the-job training. However, many opt to pursue higher education, such as an associate's degree or certificate program. The benefits of finishing specialized training and earning your certification are numerous.
Most of the time, level I pharmacy technicians take care of administrative duties and maintain organization. These pharmacy technicians operate under the close supervision of a pharmacist and require strong customer service abilities.
Compared to level I technicians, level II pharmacy technicians get more training, often have one or two years of experience, and cover a wider range of tasks.
Training level I pharmacy technicians is frequently the responsibility of level II technicians. Level II technicians may train level I technicians and also be in charge of producing more complicated prescriptions, keeping sophisticated medication files, and documenting statistical data for the pharmacy in addition to their level I duties.
Advanced pharmacy technicians are another name for level II technicians.
These technicians can receive training in administering immunizations, managing chemotherapeutic drugs, and sterile compounding.
Yes, that is our main goal! We want all of our studentsemployment ready and certified. The last module of the program is called the Capstone and is considered a review of everything that was learned. There are tools offered by both ELTC & PTCB as well.
Yes, even though its self-paced, if a student has a question, they can always email their instructor who’s assigned to the course. In the meantime, the instructor will reach out to gauge howthe studentis progressing within the course. This helps to show the student the instructor is monitoring them and is a live person and not a robot. We all want to communicate with a real person, right?
If the student decides to self-pace themselves slower than the recommended timeframe, they have one year from the enrollment date to complete the program. If a student is not able to complete the program in one year, the courses will close after thatyear date. The content will expire and will prevent a student from accessing the content or the e-book
