SUMMER MED EXPLORATION CAMP (SMEC)

PROGRAM OVERVIEW

 

  • Provides exposure to many health careers inside the medical profession over 5 days.
  • Brings top-notch speakers sharing their experiences within their health occupations.
  • Equips the student with hands on simulations for a greater understanding of what it's like to practice in the field.
  • Formulates a doable and realistic strategy of future educational training for each student. 
  • Presents information for career outlooks, salary, and advancement opoortunities.
  • Strengthens community and teamwork with daily sessions of problem solving medical case studies.

 

 

 

 

 

ELGIBILITY

  • Have an interest in a career within the health profession.
  • Be a high school student in the 9-12 grade level.
  • Be a US citizen or have permanent resident status.
  • Submit a completed application.
  • Pay a non-refundable application fee. (Fee will be applied to tuition.)
  • Hold a current G.P.A. at time of applying of 2.5 or higher.
  • Submit a personal statement. (Limit 500 words)
  • Submit a copy of high school transcripts.
  • Submit a CV or resume that includes extra-curricular activities.
  • Obtain parental/guardianship approval.

MARCH 16TH-20TH: APPLICANT DECISIONS

 

APRIL 6TH: WAITLIST DECISIONS

 

 

 

 

TUITION & FEES

 

 

The program tuition is $1,000 per participant.  There is an non-refundable application fee of $100 that is due upon signing up.  This fee will be applied to the total cost of the tuition. Payment plans are offered.  Please contact us for options.

TRANSPORTATION

 

Our camp does not include overnight stays.  Transportation to and from the program site is the responsibility of the parent/guardian. Parents/guardians are responsible for the timely pick-up and drop-off at the camp.
